Must Read: 20 Social habits to start taking seriously from NOW!

Social habits are the lifeline of social interactions. Though downplayed most times, social habits greatly influence our day to day living, communication, relationship, businesses. This may not seem like the obvious but developing good and basic social habits would go a long way in enhancing our daily social experience. Here are 20 social basic social habits that could make you look more professional and principled to people:

1. Don’t spam someone with calls more than twice continuously. If they don’t pick up your call that means they have more important priorities to attend to at the time. They'll probably return the call later or you could call back much later.

2. Leave a message if you are not disposed to pick a call at the time. It shows you value people even though you're busy at the moment.

3. Return money that you have borrowed even before the other person remembers lending it to you. It shows your integrity and character. Same goes with other items such as pens, umbrellas, etc.

4. Never order the expensive dish on the menu when someone is treating you for lunch/dinner. If possible ask them to order their choice of food for you.

5. Respect people's religious beliefs.

6. Learn to say, ''Thank you'' after a treat or a random act of kindness. An act of gratitude motivates someone to do more for you next time.

7. Smile at a sincere compliment.

8. Compliment people when they deserve it.

9. Don’t ask awkward questions like ‘Why aren't you married yet’ or 'Don't you think you should be married?' or ‘Don’t you have kids’ or ‘Didn't you go to school?’ You might be shaking a table that affects their self esteem. Besides, it's really none of your business.

10. Always open the door for the person coming behind you. Doesn’t matter if it is a guy or a girl. A simple act of courtesy wouldn't diminish your self worth.

11. If you take a taxi with a friend, and he/she pays, you pay next time.

12. Respect different political opinions.

13. Never interrupt people talking, you'll appear inconsiderate and probably kill the flow of the conversation.

14. If you tease someone, and they don’t seem to enjoy it, stop it and never do it again.

15. Focus more on people's strengths than their weaknesses.

16. Praise publicly. Criticize privately.

17. Don't prey or mock at people's weaknesses, you kill their self esteem.

18. When someone shows you a photo on their phone, be disciplined enough not to swipe left or right. You'll never know what’s next!

19. Don’t fix a time without being punctual yourself. It’s bad habit. Practice what you preach.
